On the night
Come early — fun and games for all the children, and the bar and BBQ ready to keep everyone fed and watered.
The traditional village bonfire, built by our volunteers, goes up in flames.
A professionally fired display lights up the sky over the village.
What's on offer
The bonfire
A proper village bonfire, built by a large team of volunteers on the day itself — so no wildlife has made a home in it before it's lit.
The display
An exceptional display from Oxford-based Storm Fireworks — the highlight of the village calendar.
BBQ
Hot food off the grill all evening, served up by our volunteer team.
Village bar
Mulled wine, beer and wine to keep the November chill at bay — plus soft drinks.

Good to know
- Capacity is limited to 500 people and the event usually sells out — we can't guarantee tickets on the gate, so book ahead.
- Disabled parking spaces are available at Pendon Museum, right by the field.
- The bar and BBQ are run by volunteers — every pound you spend goes to the cause too.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please leave sparklers and your own fireworks at home.
- Sorry, no dogs — it's not a fun night out for them.
It's all for the village
Fireworks Night is run entirely by volunteers, and every penny of profit goes straight back into Long Wittenham — supporting the village school and pre-school, Brownies and Rainbows, the Wittenham Warriors and more.

It takes a small army of volunteers to put the night on — marshalling, wood collecting, setting up on the morning and clearing up the day after. If you can spare an hour or two, we'd love to hear from you.
